Don’t take care of your heart
that’s nonsense
like being attached
to the shell as it cracks
inevitably breaking
your seed sprouts
as was intended
from inception
don’t hold it back
let it break and change
bold and daring
life is nothing,
if not lived
in its magnificent entirety
pain and pleasure
the dramas
like personal soap operas
playing out
on the daily stage
while treasure hunting
finding the bits
of wisdom in the midst
wrapped up in poeting
I’m not looking to be anyone else
full of my own edges
hard enough to smooth out
grinding against
the ledge
staring down the fall
hanging over
the abyss
I’m always playing
by a different set of rules
than those in the game
making them up
as I write the play
