I didn’t love you till I lost you
and now that you’re gone
all my heart
is a promise
the unconditional part
came too late
our fuzzy start
the moment I let you go

I lost you inside my mind
to the sands of time
slipping through my memories
broken apart by life’s end
and the bardo in between
so I made a new bargain
with myself
I would work hard
to become awake
and know my mind
to see you clearly
and find once again
what I delicately need
the joining of two
liberating into one
